Frequently Asked Questions

How does Apprenticeship support my current recruitment strategy?

Our structured training programs utilize industry standards to provide your community with consistent foundations in your priority skills.  We work with you to ensure the correct programs are registered to support your local network.  If you already have a training program in place, we are often able to incorporate it into our Registered Apprenticeships.

What resources do I need to have in place to host Apprentices?

In order to host Apprentices, you will need to have active employees with the skills you plan to train.  We recognize that often those employees are not trained in mentorship and may be nearing retirement.  To prepare them to take on the new role of Trainer, the GACC provides a mentorship training course called Train the Trainer.  To learn more about this program, contact our team at Apprenticeship@gaccny.com.

How much do the GACC’s Apprenticeship services cost?

Our services are based on a Consortium model.  Companies in a region with aligned workforce development needs coordinate with us to build a training network that meets the local needs.  Our preferred model is an annual fee structure with rates based on the size of the company.  Fee structures and rates will vary depending on region.  Private and government grants may be available to support onboarding, wages, related classroom instruction, and other training costs.
