With this coverage, arising treatment expenses in case of illness will be reimbursed by the insurance.
The insurance card which you can download from the Aetna website provides your health care provider, e.g. a doctor or a hospital with the necessary information to confirm your coverage. The card does not guarantee payment. Once you have downloaded your ID card, please call the Customer Service for your Member ID ( i.e. your insurance number). Please carry the card with you at all times.
To find the nearest Aetna Health Care provider, we recommend Aetna DocFind. Should you choose a doctor that is not listed on Aetna Doc Find, the payment of your visit by Aetna will not be fully covered. You will be responsible for a deductible up through the first $500, as well as 30% of any charges thereafter (up to $5000). You would then be required to contact Aetna for reimbursement. It is easier to work with a provider that is affiliated with Aetna through a PPO network. It will also assure that the bill will not exceed reasonable & customary charges.
If you were treated by an affiliated health care provider, he/she usually sends the bills directly to Aetna. Otherwise, the provider has the option of having you pay upfront for your visit. In that case submit a copy of the bill directly to Aetna.

The insurance will then reimburse your treatment expenses. Please enclose a short notice which clearly shows your full name, your Member ID and your birth date. If you have bills from the pharmacy for medication, submit them to the Aetna and a receipt which states for what the prescriptions were and the receipts showing that you paid for them. Aetna will then reimburse your medication expenses.
We recommend calling an Aetna Customer Service Representative beforehand to make sure that the respective treatment is covered by the insurance, especially in cases of chronic illness or pre-existing conditions as these are usually not covered.
You can find the address and other information on your insurance card.
